Mercadien is seeking a highly skilled SBA Audit Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in auditing and compliance, specifically in Small Business Administration (SBA) lending. As the SBA Audit Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and compliance of our SBA loan portfolio, conducting audits, and implementing best practices to optimize our operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the SBA audit process, including planning, execution, and reporting.
- Conduct thorough audits of SBA loans and related documentation to ensure compliance with SBA regulations and internal policies.
- Demonstrate a broad knowledge of compliance and firm policies to ensure audits meet both client needs and regulatory standards.
- Develop and implement audit strategies and methodologies to assess risk and improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure effective planning is performed within a specified time prior to the beginning of fieldwork.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate and timely reporting of audit findings.
- Provide recommendations for process improvements and policy updates based on audit results.
- Follow engagement issues through the consultation process ensuring proper documentation is placed in the file.
- Produce and manage team schedules to leverage staff support appropriately and productively.
- Manage and oversee team work backlog and work projections.
- Facilitate debriefing sessions and provide constructive feedback.
- Train and mentor audit staff to enhance their skills and knowledge in SBA lending and compliance.
- Prepare detailed audit reports and present findings to senior management and stakeholders.
- Stay updated on SBA regulations, guidelines, and industry best practices to ensure ongoing compliance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is a plus
- Minimum of 5 years of recent experience in bank safety and soundness examination with the OCC, FDIC, or FRB
- Proficient in US Small Business Administration Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) primarily found in SOPs and
