Under the supervision of the National Director, Integrated Direct Marketing, Resource Development, the Director, Mass Market Engagement will work as part of a diverse team that has responsibility for planning and implementing an aggressive fundraising program for BGCA’s nationally managed Integrated Direct Marketing program. This position touches all of BGCA’s mass market programs including direct response fundraising, alumni recruitment and activation, advocacy, and brand through direct mail, direct response television and digital channels. This position is also tasked with assisting in the development of additional giving entry points to attract new donors, third party fundraising platforms, donor upgrade strategies and must be current on emerging industry trends. This position also works closely with our operations team to build and analyze performance reports and organizational benchmarks. Candidate should have strong project management experience and be nimble and entrepreneurial. Should have experience managing multiple vendors and budgets, including tracking and net investment scenario building. Experience working in a federated, franchise or affiliate model is strongly preferred. Responsibilities Support, Inform, and Execute Donor Affinity Strategy Work collaboratively within BGCA to identify and establish current and potential donor pathways for engagement and solicitation in a multichannel environment Support collaborative efforts with local Clubs and internal Boys & Girls Clubs of America departments, including Marketing & Communications and Field Operations. Work with Resource Development Operations and BGCA Marketing to ensure adequate and robust data collection and business intelligence to support donor engagement Participate in creation of a comprehensive calendar of acquisition, cultivation, stewardship and solicitation activities and manage key strategies as assigned. Expand additional giving opportunities through established and emerging third party platforms and acquiring new donors. Develop, Plan and Execute the retention, engagement and upgrade strategy for existing donors, supporters and advocates Responsible for the creation of a dynamic fundraising strategies to ensure revenue goals are achieved utilizing industry best practices Participate in workgroups and influence strategy, creation and execution of constituent pathways Support the Business Operations of Service Maintain proactive and collaborative working relationships with colleagues in Marketing & Communications; RD Operations, Alumni, other fundraising lines of business (as needed) and any outside vendors. Function as an integral member of the RD team; assisting in all areas including planning, solicitation, implementation, and evaluation. Perform other fundraising activities as assigned. Conduct and/or participate in state, regional, and national staff meetings and conferences. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferred or related education/experience equivalency Minimum of five years demonstrated successful development experience Demonstrated track record with successful fundraising campaigns including face-to-face Successful track record meeting fundraising objectives; and with planning, managing and executing individual solicitations Knowledge of fund development principles and best practices Experience managing successful donor cultivation events is preferred Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, fundraising software (Salesforce, Luminate) and research and spreadsheet skills High energy, driven, dedicated, motivated, confident, flexible and creative. Comfortable planning, managing and performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities. Superior interpersonal and negotiation skills. Able to get along with diverse personalities; tactful and mature. Good reasoning and sound judgment.
