Contract Staff Accountant Remote, California/West Coast $35-40/hr We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support our client's accounting team. This role requires a self-motivated professional with a strong accounting background, capable of working independently as well as with a team.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform general ledger reconciliations and prepare journal entries
Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
Prepare accurate financial statements and reports
Manage accounts payable and receivable as needed
Assist with audit preparation and ensure compliance with internal and external requirements
Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies, variances, and trends
Contribute to process improvement initiatives within accounting workflows
Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred)
Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or a similar role
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis)
Highly organized with a keen attention to detail
Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively in a remote environment
