They have a long term need, but they would prefer to hire contract to hire only. Ideally 6-8 weeks before converting.

We are seeking a talented and dynamic Project Accountant on a contract to hire basis. This is an excellent opportunity to be a part of a thriving Accounting + Finance industry, where you will be working on exciting projects and dealing with financial aspects related to construction.
Responsibilities:
As a Project Accountant, your role will be multi-faceted and essential to our financial operations. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Managing and overseeing all aspects of project accounting, including financial reporting and month-end close.
2. Preparing, reviewing, and analyzing financial statements for construction projects.
3. Maintaining the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established accounting standards and procedures.
4. Implementing and utilizing QuickBooks for efficient financial management.
5. Collaborating with project managers to develop budgets, monitor project costs, and provide financial insights.
6. Preparing regular financial reports and summaries for management, highlighting key financial indicators, potential risks, and opportunities.
7. Ensuring compliance with all relevant financial regulations and industry standards.
8. Assisting with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need a strong foundation in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and a keen eye for detail. The required qualifications are:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in project accounting, preferably within the construction industry.
3. Proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting software.
4. Extensive experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close processes.
5. In-depth understanding of financial reporting, including preparation and analysis of financial statements.
6. Excellent analytical skills with an ability to research, analyze and interpret complex financial data.
7. Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
8. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to clearly convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
