Job Details
The Controller will be responsible for overseeing the financial health of the company by managing accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls. This role will play a key part in ensuring the company's financial integrity, optimizing profitability, and supporting executive decision-making. The ideal candidate has experience in multi-unit retail or food and beverage operations, a strong understanding of inventory management, and the ability to drive process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and tax compliance.
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to provide accurate insights into financial performance.
Develop and manage financial planning processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis.
Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and industry-specific financial standards.
Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Oversee inventory accounting and cost control measures to optimize profitability.
Collaborate with executive leadership to provide financial guidance and support business strategies.
Manage and mentor the accounting team, fostering a high-performance culture.
Partner with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions as needed.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
5+ years of experience in an accounting leadership role, preferably within the food and beverage, retail, or hospitality industries.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and tax compliance.
Experience with multi-location operations and inventory accounting.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop and mentor a team.
