Expedia Group's Multi-Item Trip Team is seeking a software dev engineer I with a passion for the delivery of scalable software solutions in an Agile development environment and contribute to evolving the package shopping experience to help customers find and book their perfect vacation. We believe the best way to book travel is through our dynamic packages path. The nature of our Multi-Item team means that you will partner and collaborate with many other product teams spread across many locations around the world. You will also work directly with many non-technical teams from UX, to product management, retail mangers, and strategy.

We are a mid-sized team working on a wide range of technologies from the very front end web experience to the business logic. We have dynamic, agile team with a commitment to producing high quality software while striving to improve ourselves and our processes every single day.

In this role, you will establish a new Test and Learn pipeline to reinvest in our packages product to optimize our path and adapt to our customers' changing needs. You will drive feature development through the entire product lifestyle—from ideas and product hypotheses to implementation, delivery, and beyond.

What you'll do with us:

  • Design, develop, debug, and modify software applications and tools
  • Work on projects that have a direct impact on customers and support strategic initiatives of brands or business units.
  • Support development of documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance.
  • Join an energetic environment where each team member's proactivity and contribution is important.
  • Developing in an environment where the definition of done includes unit testing, code review, integration testing.

Who you are:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a software developer in the Java ecosystem.
  • A good knowledge of Java 8, Spring, Spring boot, RESTful Web services.
  • Familiarity with SQL / NoSQL database solutions.
  • Developer with hands on experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, ECS, SQS, AWS Lambda, DynamoDb etc.
  • Familiar with high volume transactional systems, microservice design, continuous delivery and automated deployments.
  • Work experience on Agile/Kanban team will be an asset.
  • A strong will and ability to learn new technologies.
  • An ability to communicate with partners having various roles and belonging to different business units.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science (or related field).
