Under general guidance, the Solutions Architect provides technology solution thought leadership and recommendations for business initiative projects for a line of business. Develops a deep understanding of business objectives and strategies and ensures technology architectural vision is fully aligned with those objectives and strategies. Anticipates future business challenges and brings innovative technology solutions and options to leadership. This position interfaces with solution vendors, all technology areas and the designated business line(s) to develop understanding of key strategies, business drivers and business objectives in order to research technology landscape and recommend technology strategy that will contribute to future success of the company. Promotes effective use of technology solutions to all levels of the company and functions as a design consultant with strong knowledge of best practices.
Operates in full compliance with internal policies and procedures as well as applicable regulations and laws, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering requirements. Responsible to report any procedure or process that doesn’t meet regulatory requirements including fraud, whether suspected or confirmed, to management. This reporting can be done directly to any member of management, including Human Resources or Corporate Security, or can be reported through Associated’s anonymous Ethics Hotline.

-Develops the applications architecture and blueprints which reflect business logic of the line of business
-Consult with infrastructure, security, and application development projects to fit systems to architecture and identify when it is necessary to modify the technical architecture to accommodate project needs.
-Oversee the evaluation and selection of hardware and software products.
-Conducts reviews and analysis of needs and goals for the development and implementation of applications.
-Document all technical architecture design and analysis work.
-Understand, advocate, and augment the principles of information technology strategies.
-Analyze business drivers to determine business information and technical architecture requirements.
-Analyze technology industry and market trends and determine potential impact upon the line of business.
-Create and maintain the architecture road map for the line of business.
-Analyze current information technology environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement.
-Provides technical guidance to the business solution teams. Consults on integration and design activities.
-Identify organizational (skills, processes, structures, and culture) and financial impact of the application architecture.
-Recommends redesign, replacement or redevelopment of applications.
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related fields
Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Business with Computer Science minor or equivalent business & technology educational background
Required Experience: 7-10 years Information Technology experience. Demonstrated experience architecting business & technology solutions to business problems involving one or more business areas with particular experience in the finance & banking industry.
Preferred Experience: 10-12 years Information Technology experience in the multiple IT disciplines with strong emphasis in solution development. Prefer a number of years to have been in the financial services industry.

Other: Excellent knowledge of business process management (BPM), application and data integration, application and database development lifecycle, quality delivery, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Web Oriented Architecture (WOA), Distributed Computing Architecture, Cloud Computing Architecture, and Software as A service (SaaS) solutions.
Other: Experience with eBusiness/eCommerce, B2B, B2C, and mobility models is highly desired.
Other: Knowledge and understanding or popular architecture framework such as TOGAF or Zachman is definite plus.
