Coordinates events and activities that contribute to overall Department and Foundation goals and objectives.
Exhibits guiding behaviors that reflect Children’s values and support our mission and vision.
Partners with key areas in the foundation on event execution.
Plans, coordinates and evaluates all assigned events/activities, including drafting budget goals, objectives and time lines and submits for manager approval.
Collaborates on financial support in the form of corporate and individual contributions in order to obtain underwriting assistance and in-kind donations for assigned special events/activities for the purpose of controlling expenses and maximizing revenue.
Under the direction of the event leadership, works collaboratively across departments to develop new tactics to engage identified event donors and volunteers for further engagement.
Provides project coordination of special functions and attends events as requested.
Provides staff support to assigned individuals, groups, organizations, corporations and committees that develop and organize events/activities.
Develops positive work-oriented relationships with sponsors, vendors, and volunteers to cultivate continued and increased support/involvement.
Coordinates sponsor and volunteer acknowledgment and recognition for assigned events/activities.
Develops promotional materials, brochures, newsletters, videos associated with assigned events/activities and submits for appropriate manager(s) approval. Collaborates with marketing department to arrange publicity and promotion of assigned events/activities when appropriate.
Tracks donor contacts and cultivation activities utilizing Foundation and IS approved donor/prospect database.
Represents and speaks for health system as appropriate.
Performs other duties as assigned .
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Requires a bachelor’s degree and one year special events and volunteer management experience OR five years of special events and volunteer management experience.
Professional experience in a grassroots organization helpful, but not required.
Demonstrates initiative and problem solving in absence of supervisor(s).
Demonstrates ability to make independent decisions as necessary.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills.
Excellent organizational and problem solving skills, as well as creative ability.
Ability to sit, walk and stand for extended periods of time while performing functions of position.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds during special events functions which is approximately 10% of the time.
