Job Description


Coordinates events and activities that contribute to overall Department and Foundation goals and objectives.


  • Exhibits guiding behaviors that reflect Children’s values and support our mission and vision.

  • Partners with key areas in the foundation on event execution.

  • Plans, coordinates and evaluates all assigned events/activities, including drafting budget goals, objectives and time lines and submits for manager approval.

  • Collaborates on financial support in the form of corporate and individual contributions in order to obtain underwriting assistance and in-kind donations for assigned special events/activities for the purpose of controlling expenses and maximizing revenue.

  • Under the direction of the event leadership, works collaboratively across departments to develop new tactics to engage identified event donors and volunteers for further engagement.

  • Provides project coordination of special functions and attends events as requested.

  • Provides staff support to assigned individuals, groups, organizations, corporations and committees that develop and organize events/activities.

  • Develops positive work-oriented relationships with sponsors, vendors, and volunteers to cultivate continued and increased support/involvement.

  • Coordinates sponsor and volunteer acknowledgment and recognition for assigned events/activities.

  • Develops promotional materials, brochures, newsletters, videos associated with assigned events/activities and submits for appropriate manager(s) approval. Collaborates with marketing department to arrange publicity and promotion of assigned events/activities when appropriate.

  • Tracks donor contacts and cultivation activities utilizing Foundation and IS approved donor/prospect database.

  • Represents and speaks for health system as appropriate.

  • Performs other duties as assigned .


  • Requires a bachelor’s degree and one year special events and volunteer management experience OR five years of special events and volunteer management experience.

  • Professional experience in a grassroots organization helpful, but not required.

  • Demonstrates initiative and problem solving in absence of supervisor(s).

  • Demonstrates ability to make independent decisions as necessary.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent organizational and problem solving skills, as well as creative ability.

  • Ability to sit, walk and stand for extended periods of time while performing functions of position.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds during special events functions which is approximately 10% of the time.
