Job Description

Come work behind the scenes at the Milwaukee Public Museum! The museum’s Registration Department is in need of a skilled, detail-oriented individual to assist in scanning and organizing museum documentation.  The main responsibility will be handling primary documents from the 1900s onwards to digitize the records for inclusion in our relational collections database.  Additional duties may include data entry and other tasks around the department as needed.  

Work Schedule: Flexible, between 9 a.m.–4 p.m., MonFri 

Hours per Week: 10

Employment Start Date: Immediate

Employment End Date: 11 May 2018


  • Scanning and organizing museum documentation.
  • Data entry into relational collections database software


  • Must have Federal Work-Study award.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to complete repetitious work without compromising standards.
  • Ability to carefully and steadily handle fragile objects and documentation required.
  • Must be a quick learner and digitally savvy.
  • Background or interest in museum studies, collections work, digitization, archives, documentation or data organization suggested.
