Do you possess exceptional organizational skills and are you adept at managing engagement with business partners? Look no further: the Connectivity team is looking for a new team member.  The Senior Connectivity Account Specialist is an integral member of the Expedia Connectivity team. We are responsible for the strategy, design, negotiation and delivery of effective connectivity solutions and processes through our contractual partnerships with Connectivity suppliers for all of Expedia Group (EG) transportation lines of business and travel (hotels/lodging, activity, etc.)

We are looking for a new team member who has experience in dealing with GDS (global distribution systems) or other global connectivity partners and is passionate about recommending solutions.  Join our team as a Senior Connectivity Account Specialist, and you will have the opportunity to act as a liaison with the EG commercial team, leading connectivity partners and internal operations/product/technology teams to support operational needs for air, car, activities and cruise. You will lead the day-to-day operational account management of our connectivity partners (technical suppliers) and will be able to understand concerns, challenges and opportunities that we use and connect with to source content and procurement.

The right candidate will be passionate about travel, comfortable with technical concepts, adept at leading and managing projects, and have the aptitude to grow and learn.

What you'll do:

  • Understand the marketplace and connectivity partners (GDS, Aggregators, Direct Connects, and channel managers with other potential connectivity options) so you can help support the team in our connectivity landscape reviews and vendor distribution

  • Be comfortable with the different connectivity solutions in place (from a technical, product, operational, and commercial perspective) and how they fit into Expedia Group’s various systems and processes

  • Manage our partner engagement by recording and documenting action points, challenges, and opportunities using tools such as Trello boards

  • Work with the supply, servicing, technology, product, operation teams, and any internal stakeholders (including air and car account teams, transport strategy team) to understand issues and opportunities at hand as well as gaps which affect EG’s competitiveness

  • Participate in QBRs, set agendas, and facilitate operational reviews with connectivity partners

  • Work closely with account and market management teams to address account issues experienced by airlines, car rental companies or other supply partners

  • You may be required to manage a small portfolio of connectivity accounts and project manage

Who you are:

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in the travel industry (hotels/lodging, car, air/flight, cruise, activites, etc.) with knowledge of connectivity suppliers (travel and transport); mainly for air – is highly preferred

  • An understanding of how travel content is acquired and the challenges our industry is facing

  • Global travel industry experience and GDS/CRS knowledge

  • Experience working with technical analysts and product specialists

  • Experience process mapping and managing commercial suppliers

  • The ability to work autonomously and lead multiple projects simultaneously in a well-organized process

  • Excellent prioritization skillsets, analytical and critical thinking skills, including demonstrated general problem-solving skills and an intense curiosity to identify emerging business trends and ensuring needs, while taking initiative of tasks with minimal to no supervision

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, and experience in working in international and multicultural environments

  • The ability to influence decisions and able to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, in English; Fluency in English (written, spoken) is required

  • A positive can-do, go-getter attitude, and able to build strong and effective partnerships internally across the various lines of business as well as externally with our suppliers and market managers (B2C, business to consumer/customer)

  • Willingness and ability to travel (including internationally) and adapt to work on different time zones as part of a global team, working with global partners
