Job Description

University Marketing Communications (UMC) at Loyola University Chicago seeks a Marketing Communications Specialist to support the integrated marketing communications efforts of the Quinlan School of Business. The position will report to the senior director, school-based marketing communications and be an integral part of a team of school-based communicators at Loyola.

In coordination with the dean and colleagues in University Marketing and Communication (UMC), Enrollment Marketing, Advancement, and Alumni Relations, the school’s marketing communications position is responsible for the public presence of the school and the channels it uses to effectively communicate with and engage target audiences. Planning priorities and work effort will be determined in coordination with the dean and senior director, school-based marketing communications.  
 
Your primary responsibilities include:

·       Identify, create, and distribute compelling content across all communication channels and relevant audiences. Channels could include the website, social media, emails, videos, podcasts, and marketing materials.
·       Update and implement the strategy for the school’s social media presence.
·       Help maintain the school’s website.
·       Support the school’s marketing plan.
·       Support event promotion for school-based events targeting external audiences.
·       Maintain direct lines of communication and efficient project management with UMC staff.
·       Attend school-wide and relevant staff meetings, serve on school committees, and participate in the life of the school.
·       Support the University’s and the school’s diversity, equity, and inclusion goals
·       Additional marketing and communications activities in support of the Quinlan School of Business.
 
Minimum Education and/or Work Experience
 
Bachelor’s degree in related field and two – five years of related experience.
 
To be successful in this position, you will bring:
·       Bachelor’s degree in a related field and two-years relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.
·       Demonstrated experience in marketing and communications, including content production and social media.
·       Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.
·       Basic design skills.
·       Demonstrated project and organizational management skills and a history of successfully delivering projects
·       Experience in web content management systems and relevant design software is preferred.
