We want people to be excited to come to work every morning and know they are a part of something great. That’s why we prize collaboration, collegiality, and letting the best ideas win the day.

What you get to do:

Reporting to the VP of Talent & Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), the Senior Manager, Talent & Learning will build an equitable and world-class professional talent management and development function that enables all of our employees to continuously improve their performance, own their development, and maximize their potential, regardless of background and experience. You will oversee Opploans' talent and learning programs including end-end to goal setting, performance reviews, talent reviews, succession planning, and leadership development. This will include strategy design, program and training delivery, scaling and measuring the results of our programs.

  • Lead the development of our long-term talent and learning strategy, overseeing all relevant components to improve employee performance, promote equity for underrepresented groups, and increase retention of our team members

  • Build best-in-class leadership effectiveness programs, including manager capability-building resources while leading a team of two Talent Development Leads to provide manager and soft skills trainings to all employees
  • Oversee team development and programs that optimize team performance introducing new tools and assessments
  • Be a leadership coach in both individual and group formats to provide a high touch learning and growth experience for leaders and design high potential programs for high performers
  • Identify and build opportunities to improve leadership and soft skills by analyzing data to identify trends, and communicating findings to multiple audiences, and partnering cross-functionally with leaders and teams
  • Share and model contemporary practices with teammates to build collective team capacity in areas including adult learning, performance management, manager effectiveness, talent & learning
  • Measure and assess programs, evaluate for equity, quality, impact, scalability and sustainability, and seek improvement opportunities while establishing methods for sustained adoption
  • Source, recommend, and manage vendor relationships and contracts. Provide guidance and recommendations on learning technology platforms (e.g. LinkedIn Learning, Lattice, HRIS systems) functionality and governance

What you will bring to the team:

  • 6+ years of experience and Master's Degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology or relative field of study
  • A passion for creating equitable people processes that include and serve all employees
  • Experience designing and leading performance and talent review programs
  • Experience delivering leadership development learning programs
  • Knowledge of applying best practice manager and leadership development principles to designing programs
  • Experience influencing executives and working through resistance and conflicting perspectives
  • Communicate and build relationships with employees at all levels
  • Appreciate the freedom and accountability that comes with leading your portion of the business
  • Have an ability to identify opportunities, successes, and failures quickly and act upon them in a thoughtful manner
  • Remote work friendly - work hours follow “central time zone” regardless of location
