Launched in late 2016, Facebook Supplier Diversity helps qualified diverse-owned companies do business with Facebook and with the people and communities that Facebook connects. Our vision is to leverage the power and scale of our platforms and services to transform the way diverse suppliers connect to customers, each other, and the tools and resources to grow.
Facebook has now spent more than $1.1 billion cumulatively with US companies certified as minority, women, veteran, LGBTQ, or disabled-owned (diverse suppliers). In 2019 alone, Facebook spent $515 million with diverse suppliers in categories spanning creative services, network infrastructure, facilities management and more. In January 2020, we began a global rollout of our supplier diversity program to increase opportunities for diverse suppliers located outside of the US. In June, we announced our commitment to increase our annual spend to at least $1 billion with diverse suppliers by the end of 2021. This commitment includes a specific goal to spend a minimum of $100 million with Black-owned companies.
In support of this commitment, we’ve created a new role within the Supplier Diversity team responsible for hiring and leading a team of sourcing professionals explicitly tasked with supporting Facebook’s sourcing and outsourcing teams and business stakeholders to identify, qualify, and connect diverse suppliers with contracting opportunities in key categories, including, but not limited to: facilities construction and operations, marketing and creative agencies, and professional and IT services.
This is a unique opportunity for a professional with a passion for creating economic opportunity to work with a wide variety of internal teams and directly contribute to achieving this important and high-profile goal.
