The Nevada Public Health Training Center, housed within the School of Community Health Sciences at the University of Nevada, Reno seeks candidates for a Public Health Diversity Advisor OR Senior Public Health Diversity Advisor (NVPHTC). This position is a temporary full-time position.
Public Health Diversity Advisor
The Public Health Diversity Advisor within the Nevada Public Health Training Center (NVPHTC) provides expert advisory consultation to public health agencies to train and enhance the public health workforce by empowering organizations to deliver successful strategic plans, policies, and training programs aimed at diversity and inclusion in public health services. Positions perform program evaluation and needs assessment of existing plans and training programs to increase the effectiveness with which these programs are delivered to the workforce in order to minimize and circumvent practices that contribute to disparities in minority populations. The Advisor is the subject matter expert for a specific diversity category. The Advisor will manage professional relationships with the public health community to deliver and expand these consultative services. Advisors will create assessments to determine training needs, research and develop curriculum based on feedback and outreach activities associated with the program, and guide organizations in the implementation and delivery of these comprehensive programs. The incumbents may additionally contribute to NVPHTC diversity training module expansion both in person and online
Senior Public Health Diversity Advisor
The Senior Public Health Diversity Advisor serves as lead advisor, providing support for NVPHTC’s grant programs with specific responsibility for the oversight related to the execution of program activities and timely completion of program milestones and deliverables. The Senior Advisor is the learning management system online methodology specialist and administrator. The Senior Advisor also serves as the lead for evaluation and impact assessments, culminating in presentations, impact reports, and/or publications. Examples of duties for this position include: managing relationships within NVPHTC, with program participants, and with funding agencies; supervising of students and/or hourly employees; and generating program reports for submission to funding agencies.
