Netflix is looking for a Director to lead a publicity team for its original series and films in Northern Markets in Latin America, including Mexico, Colombia and surrounding markets. We are looking for someone who is equipped, excited and an expert publicity strategist with an understanding of the different countries, cultures, and idiosyncrasies of the Latin American region. With great original series like Marvel’s Luke Cage, The Crown, Stranger Things, Black Mirror, 13 Reasons Why, Master of None, Narcos and more on the horizon, the Director of the team will be responsible for strategizing and executing innovative campaigns from top to bottom. The Director will help create, shape, execute and manage North of Latin America campaigns for series and films, adapting global strategies for the needs of their markets and making use of multiple earned media channels, including broadcast, print and online. They will focus on creating cultural moments and high impact campaigns, explore new tactics of promoting series, and will be able to communicate different facets of their campaigns to agencies and other audiences across Netflix. She or he will manage a team of 4 publicists, based in Hollywood, who work with agencies in region (where applicable) to pitch media, secure opportunities and cover set visits or help plan and work junkets. He/she will serve as the expert on the regions they manage, able to convey cultural needs and nuances that impact the global campaign. They can formulate and manage a budget, and give visibility into their process successfully. Pack your bag because travel is a requirement.
They will collaborate closely with our Content, Brand PR, Marketing and Social teams to create big wins in the region. He/she will work in lockstep with the US originals publicity and film teams that handles the global strategies for aforementioned campaigns. He/she will also oversee publicity efforts for our growing slate of original series produced in Latin America, including Club de Cuervos, 3%, Ingobernable and more. This position will be part of the originals publicity leadership team, helping direct the activities of the department and determining overall strategy and budgeting, with input into awards, events, internal communications, talent relations and more.

The successful candidate for the role will likely possess 7+ years in corporate or agency settings. Of particular interest are candidates with Broad knowledge of TV, international publicity, entertainment, pop culture and lifestyle trends, etc. in general and Latin America. Demonstrate the ability to think innovatively—connecting the dots when others cannot. Able to make the leap from information to insight. Able to identify, nurture and help refine compelling creative ideas and concepts. Takes risks and elevates work. Candidate needs to be a great writer and talker. Can organize, summarize, clarify and communicate ideas simply, succinctly and accurately. Has a quick intelligence, is fast on the feet and quickly responds to issues and questions with a candid approach. Doesn’t need to “check with the agency” on every issue or for every answer. An independent thinker willing and able to express and support a point of view.
Ability to speak/write in Spanish & English is essential. Portuguese is a plus.

The U.S. Kids & Family Brand PR Manager will be a member of a seasoned group of professionals helping formulate, execute, and sustain regional media strategies for Netflix. This leader will play a critical role in developing press stories, narratives, and campaigns around how Netflix is transforming entertainment for families. The brand PR team develops ideas and strategies for the local region and implement strategies developed by our global team. This role requires a strategic mind that can take data and insights to create meaningful PR campaigns and the ability to work in a fast-changing, highly competitive global media landscape. The role will also work closely with our social media, tech PR, publicity and brand marketing teams as well as managing agency teams. Expertise creating campaigns that work across all disciplines, that are regionally sensitive and deliver on the brand promise is key.
The media manager must:
Have experience managing PR media campaigns from strategy development through execution -- fluency in social media and marketing is important in order to partner effectively on campaigns.
Have 8-10 years of experience in an in-house and/or agency setting used to working in a fast paced and ever changing environment. Experience working at or with an agency is preferred.
Knowledge and deep understanding of the kids & family media landscape and ability to develop campaigns specifically targeted to families along with the ability to engage kids of all age ranges.
Understand how to build and maintain relationships with key journalists, social media press and different kinds of influencers, as well as the ability to pitch and secure coverage for stories.
Be confident and creative in writing, capable of crafting everything from executive messaging to consumer facing newsletters, press releases and everything in between.
Love brands, appreciate a good brief and understand what to do with a genuine insight
Possess the ability to identify, nurture and help refine compelling creative ideas and concepts that translate to media.
Have proven ability to be a nimble and creative problem-solver.
Be capable of serving as a company spokesperson among press.
Really love entertainment...broad knowledge of TV/film, entertainment, pop culture and lifestyle trends is expected and being a TV, movie or Netflix junkie is even better.
